What Tess has guessed is that one of the boys that Fauquier confessed to killing was not one of his victims, but through Abramowitz the O’Neals paid him good money. Yet, Tess finds out that this involves the O’Neals, so she goes to see Louisa O’Neal. Tess goes to see him, and the only thing he makes him admit is that he was paid some money to confess to a crime he didn’t commit. The key is in a man on the Death Row, Tucker Fauquier, whose crimes involved raping boys and killing them. Tess finds out that there is a link between the story Jonathan was working on and Abramowitz. Even though I didn’t like the way he sought out Tess for sex just when he wanted, I think he was a good character. I was surprised by several things in the plot, but nothing was as shocking as Jonathan’s death. The mystery of Abramowitz’s death was more complex than I thought.
